Paloma Gutiérrez del Arroyo and Raphaële Soumagnas

Raphaële Soumagnas and Paloma Gutiérrez del Arroyo met in Paris in 2008 while they were both studying the interpretation of medieval music on a course proposed jointly by the Sorbonne University and the National Conservatory of Music and Dance (CNSM). After obtaining their masters degrees, they both pursued further training at the Fondation Royaumont with such prestigious ensembles as Musica Nova and Dialogos. They also specialised in the studies of medieval counterpoint and sight-reading from original manuscript sources with Raphaël Picazos. After hours of singing medieval music together and sharing various projects, ranging from theatre to contemporary music, their common interpretative vision and the unique blend of their two voices led to the creation of their own musical ensemble: Oiet.
